NUT ROLL 
1 yeast cake
1 tbsp. sugar
1 tbsp. flour
1/4 c. lukewarm water

Mix. Let rise 1/2 hour.

2ND STEP:

Melt 1/2 pound butter. Add 1/2 pint sweet cream and 4 egg yolks, beaten.

3RD STEP:

4 cups flour, 2 tablespoons sugar and pinch of salt. Mix all 3 steps together thoroughly. Separate into 3 balls and refrigerate in bowl covered overnight.

NUT FILLING:

1 lb. walnuts, ground
1 1/2 c. sugar
4 egg whites, beaten stiff
1 tsp. vanilla

Divide into 3 parts. Roll dough 15 inch square, fill, roll. Set on cookie sheet to rise 1 hour. Brush top with beaten egg. Bake approximately 40 minutes at 350 degrees.
