ABBIE SHAW'S CARAMEL FUDGE 
3 c. sugar
1 lg. can evaporated milk
2 tbsp. flour
2 tbsp. vanilla
2 tbsp. butter
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/4 tsp. cream of tartar
2 tsp. vinegar

In large iron skillet melt, stirring constantly 1 cup sugar until browned, but not scorched. Add milk, slowly, stirring constantly, until all sugar is dissolved. Add remaining sugar. Cook until firm ball forms when mixture is dropped in cold water. Remove from heat and add flour, vanilla, butter, baking soda, cream of tartar and vinegar. Beat briskly until looses gloss.

Pour into buttered pan. Chopped nuts or coconut can be added before pouring in pan. Or place nuts or coconut on the bottom of pan and pour candy over it.
