1 c. shortening, soft
1 c. packed brown sugar
3/4 c. sugar
2 eggs
1 c. peanut butter
2 c. sifted flour
2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt

Beat shortening and sugars together until creamy. Add eggs and peanut butter; beat well. Sift flour, soda, and salt. Add to creamed mixture, mixing well.

Shape dough to form 1 inch balls. Place on ungreased cookie sheets. With a fork dipped in flour, press to make crisscrosses on each. Bake in preheated oven 8 to 10 minutes.

Makes 6 dozen.
