MARINATED FLANK STEAK 
1 lb. flank steak, visible fat trimmed
1 tsp. soy sauce
1/3 c. red cooking wine
1/8 tsp. oregano
1/8 tsp. basil
1 bay leaf
1/3 c. water

In glass or plastic bowl or pan combine wine, water, soy sauce, herbs, and spices. Place flank steak in. Marinade and refrigerate overnight or for 12 hours. Turn meat several times to coat well.

Preheat broiler. Remove steak from marinade and reserve liquid for basting. Broil steak 4 inches from heat, puree 5-10 minutes on each side depending on desired degree of doneness. Cut in thin slices diagonally across grain of meat. 4 servings.
