LARGE APPLESAUCE CAKE 
1 c. butter
2 c. brown sugar
3 eggs
2 1/2 c. applesauce
4 c. flour
1 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 tsp. cloves
3 tsp. baking soda
1 lb. walnuts, chopped
1 pkg. figs (approx. 6 1/2 oz.)
1 pkg. dates (approx. 6 1/2 oz.)
1 pkg. raisins (approx. 6 1/2 oz.)

Cream shortening and sugar. Add eggs, then applesauce. Sift dry ingredients together and add to mixture. Fold in the fruits mixed with a little flour. Bake in greased large tube pan for 1 hour at 325 degrees. This cake is extra good using fruit cake fruits.
