BEAROX
1 lb. ground beef
1 med. onion
Pepper
4 c. chopped cabbage
Salt
1 batch bread dough or hot roll mix

Fry beef and onion until done but not brown; drain the grease. Add cabbage and enough water to cook. Salt and pepper to taste. Cook well and set aside to cool. Prepare bread dough (do not let it rise). Roll onto floured surface until it is 1/4 inch thick.

Cut into 3x3 inch squares. Spoon filling on dough, but don't get any liquid on dough. Pull edges together and press to seal. Place upside down on greased pan. Do not put too close together. Bake at once at 375 degrees for 20 minutes.

I tried these they came out OK But Just OK, I had these as a kid at ball games and if I recall they were spicier then. I will make again but I guess I will put a lot more pepper in it..Thanks for the recipe

I have made these for years and my children will come home especially because I make them. I prepare cheese, raw onion, tomato, homemade pickles, mustard and mayo for the table and we open the bun sandwich and all put their favorite fillings in on top the meat mixture... absolutely divine! I sometimes use a pound and half or so of hamburger and one whole cabbage and 3 onions, salt and pepper.

I've made grout beraucks before, but I always add allspice as my grandmother did years ago.
