1 c. shortening
1 c. sugar
1 c. applesauce
2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts
1 tsp. vanilla

FROSTING:

1/4 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
2 tbsp. milk
1 1/2 c. powdered sugar

Mix ingredients together until smooth. Spread in cookie sheet and bake at 350 degrees for 35 to 45 minutes. Combine frosting ingredients and boil for 2 minutes, then add powdered sugar. Frost and serve.
