FROSTY CHERRY COOKIES 
1/2 c. butter
1 c. + 3 tbsp. sugar
1 egg
1/2 tsp. almond extract
1 1/2 c. all-purpose flour
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
2 c. Rice Chex cereal (bite size crispy rice squares, crushed)
1/2 c. nuts
1/2 c. chopped red glace' cherries

Cream butter and 1 cup sugar. Add egg and almond extract; beat well. Sift together flour, salt, soda and powder; mix well. Stir in cereal crumbs and cherries. Shape into 3/4" balls. Roll in 3 tablespoons sugar (green is good). Place 2" apart on baking sheet. Bake 8 to 10 minutes or until bottoms are lightly browned. Makes 6 dozen.
