DAN'S PUMPKIN PIE 
SENSATIONAL DOUBLE LAYER PUMPKIN PIE:

1 (3 oz.) pkg. cream cheese
1c. plus 1 tbsp. half and half or cream
1 tbsp. sugar
1 1/2 c. thawed Cool Whip
1 (9 inch) graham pie crust
2 (4 oz.) pkg. French vanilla
1 (16 oz.) can pumpkin

Add the following only if pumpkin does not come with it:

1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 tsp. ginger
1/4 tsp. cloves

Mix cream cheese, 1 tablespoon half and half and sugar with wire whisk until smooth. Gently stir in Cool Whip. Spread onto bottom. Pour 1 cup half and half into bowl. Add pudding, beat with wire whisk until well blended, 1 to 2 minutes. Let stand 3 minutes. Stir in pumpkin (and spices), mix well. Spread over cream cheese layer. Place in refrigerator for 2 hours.
