CHERRY COBBLER 
3 tbsp. butter
1 c. sugar
1 egg
2 c. flour
2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. milk
2 1/2 c. tart cherries, drained
1 c. sugar
1 1/2 c. boiling water and/or cherry juice

Cream butter, 1 cup sugar and 1 egg. Add flour, baking powder and milk. Pour batter in a 9 x 13 inch greased pan. Pour 2 1/2 cups drained tart cherries over batter. Sprinkle 1 cup sugar over cherries. Pour 1 1/2 cups boiling water and/or cherry juice over cherries. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 minutes. Serve warm or cold with ice cream or Cool Whip. May also use peaches, decrease amount of sugar sprinkled on top.
