LISA'S NO FAIL CUTOUT SUGAR
COOKIES
 
1 1/2 cups (3 sticks) butter
2 cups sugar
2 eggs
1 tbsp. vanilla
1/2 tsp. almond flavoring
4 cups all-purpose flour
1 tsp. cream of tartar
1 tsp. baking soda

Cream together butter, sugar, and eggs. Add vanilla and almond flavoring. Mix together. Add flour, one cup at a time. Mix in cream of tartar and baking soda.

For best results, chill dough in refrigerator for about an hour.

Preheat oven to 350°F. Roll out, cut, and bake for about 12 minutes.

Cool cookies and then frost.

FROSTING:

1/2 cup (1 stick) butter
1 (1 lb.) box confectioners' sugar
1/3 cup milk
1 tsp. vanilla

Mix butter, confectioners' sugar, milk and vanilla together. Beat for 2 minutes. If desired, tint with food coloring to desired colors and frost.
