PINEAPPLE UPSIDE DOWN CAKE 
1/3 c. butter
1/2 c. brown sugar
1 can sliced pineapple (15 oz.)
1 1/3 c. flour
1 c. sugar
2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
1/3 c. soft shortening
2/3 c. milk
1 egg
1 tsp. vanilla

Melt butter in baking pan sprinkle brown sugar over butter. Arrange pineapple slices on brown sugar. Mix flour, sugar, baking powder, salt add egg, shortening, milk and vanilla. Mix well pour over pineapple.

Bake 40 to 50 minutes at 300 degrees. Immediately turn upside down on cake plate.
