FILLED DATE COOKIES 
2 c. brown sugar
1 c. butter
3 eggs
4 c. flour
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/3 tsp. salt
1 tsp. baking soda

FILLING:

1 lb. dates
1/3 c. sugar
1/2 c. water
1/2 c. nuts

Cook filling until thick.

Cream butter and brown sugar; add eggs gradually. Add dry ingredients. Divide in two parts; roll out. Spread with date filling. Roll up; freeze. After frozen, slice and put on cookie sheet. Bake at 350 degrees until done.
