CABBAGE ROLLS 
12 cabbage leaves
1 1/4 lbs. ground beef
2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. pepper
1 c. rice, cooked
1 sm. onion
1 egg
1/2 tsp. poultry seasoning
2 tbsp. oil
2 (8 oz.) cans tomato sauce
1 tbsp. brown sugar
1/4 c. water
1 tbsp. lemon juice or vinegar

Cover cabbage leaves with boiling water and let stand until limp. Combine the next seven ingredients and place equal portions of meat mixture in center of each leaf. Fold side of leaf over meat and roll up. Fasten with toothpicks. Brown in oil. Combine the tomato sauce, brown sugar, water and lemon juice. Pour over cabbage rolls and simmer covered for 1 hour basting occasionally or bake in slow oven at 350 degrees. Meat mixture can also be used for stuffed peppers. Don't brown in oil and omit water in sauces. Bake in oven.
