CABBAGE AND TOMATOES 
1 head cabbage
Salt
1 lg. can tomatoes
Onion to taste
1 tsp. sugar
Pepper to taste
Spice to personal taste

Cut cabbage and sprinkle with salt. Pour boiling water over and let stand until the water starts to cool. Place the drained cabbage in a pot; add the tomatoes, onion, sugar and your choice of spices. Cook until the cabbage is the softness you prefer.

In a frying pan melt a pat or two of butter and add flour stirring until the flour is slightly brown. Add this to the cabbage and tomatoes to thicken slightly. Simmer until ready to serve.
