LEMON BUTTERMILK POUND CAKE 
6 eggs
1 c. butter
1 c. buttermilk
3 c. flour
1/2 tsp. baking soda
2 1/4 c. sugar
2 tbsp. grated lemon peel
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 tsp. vanilla

Bring eggs, butter and buttermilk to room temperature. In a small mixing bowl stir together flour and baking soda. Set aside.

Beat butter with mixer until softened. Gradually add sugar. Add eggs, beating after each addition. Add lemon peel juice and vanilla. Add flour and buttermilk alternately beating after each addition. Bake at 350 degrees for 50-60 minutes in tube pan.
