BUTTERSCOTCH COFFEE SPICE
SQUARES
 
1 1/2 c. flour
1 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. salt
1/2 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 c. butter
1 c. firmly packed brown sugar
1 egg
1/2 c. boiling water
1 tsp. instant coffee
1 (12 oz.) pkg. butterscotch morsels
1/2 c. chopped nuts

Mix flour, baking powder, soda, salt and cinnamon. Beat butter and brown sugar until creamy in separate bowl. Add 1 egg and blend well. Mix boiling water and coffee. Gradually blend in flour mixture alternately with coffee mixture into sugar mixture. Stir in the butterscotch morsels and nuts. Spread in a greased and floured 13"x9"x2" pan. Bake at 350 degrees for 30 to 35 minutes.
