10 - 12 potatoes, boiled for mashing 3/4 - 1 lb. grated cheddar cheese 2 1/2 - 3 sticks butter 2 good size onions, diced 1 lb. lasagne noodles, cooked and drained Grease a large baking dish. Saute sliced onions in the butter. Mash the potatoes with the grated cheese and 1/3 of the onion butter mixture. Add salt if desired and milk to get the consistency you want. Place a layer of lasagne noodles on bottom of dish then a layer of potatoes. Repeat ending with layer of noodles on the top. Pour remaining butter onion mixture over top and cover with foil and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. When serving, cut into pieces as you would lasagne. This makes lots, freezes well, probably has 10, 000 calories in it but is really good. |
