OLD KENTUCKY JAM CAKE 
2 c. sugar (1 c. white and 1 c. brown)
1 c. butter
1 c. buttermilk
1 tsp. baking soda (dissolved in buttermilk)
1 tsp. baking powder
2 tsp. cinnamon
1 tsp. cloves
1 tsp. allspice
1 tsp. nutmeg
1 1/2 c. jam (any kind)
1 c. strawberry jam
1 c. raisins
1 pinch salt
2 tsp. vanilla
1 c. nuts
4 eggs
Flour as needed

Mix ingredients. Bake in three cake pans that have been greased and floured for 30 minutes at 350 degrees.

ICING FOR OLD KENTUCKY JAM CAKE:

2 c. brown sugar
1 stick butter
1/3 c. cream

Mix ingredients and cream until smooth. Frost cake.
