PEAR CONSERVE 
4 c. sugar
3/4 sm. can crushed pineapple
3/4 c. slivered almonds
15 red cherries, cut in pieces

Combine pears and sugar and let stand for 3 hours. Add pineapple and simmer until pears are soft. If syrup is not as heavy as desired, add 2 teaspoons pectin. Remove from heat. Add nuts and cherries. Fill hot jars, seal, and process 5 minutes in boiling water bath.
