CHOCOLATE WAFFLES 
1 beaten egg
3/4 c. milk
1/4 c. chocolate syrup
2 tbsp. vegetable oil
1 c. pancake mix
1/3 c. chopped pecans (optional)
1/4 c. chocolate syrup
1/4 c. maple flavored syrup

In a small mixing bowl combine the egg, milk, 1/4 cup chocolate syrup and oil. With a wire whisk or a rotary beater, beat mixture until well combined. Place the pancake mix in a medium mixing bowl. Add the chocolate mixture and beat just combined.

Pour about half the batter onto the grids of a preheated, lightly greased waffle iron. Sprinkle with about half the pecans. Close lid quickly (do not open until waffle is done). Remove waffle with fork. Repeat with remaining batter and nuts.

Stir together 1/4 cup chocolate syrup and 1/4 cup maple syrup; serve with waffles. Makes two 9 inch waffles.
