BEEF AND CABBAGE SOUP 
1 1/4 to 2 lbs. ground beef
1 lg. onion, chopped
1 lg. can chili beans
1 qt. tomato juice
1 qt. whole tomatoes
4 sticks celery
1 med. size head cabbage
1 tsp. Italian seasoning
1/4 tsp. garlic
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1 tbsp. sugar
Salt and pepper to taste
Red pepper, if desired

In a large kettle, brown ground beef and onions. Add salt and pepper. Then add remaining ingredients. Then add boiling water to thin soup as desired. Cook for about 2 hours.
