GREEN LAYERED SALAD 
lettuce, shredded
large sweet onion, sliced thin
celery, chopped
1 pkg. frozen peas, slightly cooked and cooled
6 tbsp. mayonnaise
1/4 c. sugar
1/2 lb. bacon, fried, drained, cooled and crumbled

In a large salad bowl, place a layer shredded lettuce, layer of onion, layer of chopped celery and layer of cooled peas. Continue to layer but end up with lettuce on top. Mix mayonnaise and sugar together and put on top of lettuce. Sprinkle with Parmesan cheese and crumbled bacon. Do not mix. Cover and chill at least 4 hours or overnight. Serve without tossing the salad. This recipe is one that Helen Strommen had shared with me.
