1 1/2 c. sliced apples Put apples in boiling water and cook 5 minutes. Set aside; after draining the liquid. CUSTARD: 1 2/3 c. milk 3 eggs 1/4 c. sugar or sugar substitute equivalent, suitable for baking 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 tsp. cinnamon 1/4 tsp. nutmeg or allspice 1/4 tsp. salt Cook custard until thickened and set aside. 2 tbsp. raisins Mix the cooked apples, bread and raisins. Before putting them in your prepared baking dish. Pour the prepared custard over the apple mixture. Put your baking dish in a larger pan with water. Hot water. Bake at 325 degrees for 45-55 minutes. Make sauce to put on top. SAUCE: 1/2 c. apple juice 2 tbsp. cornstarch 1/4 tsp. cinnamon Put above ingredients into a pan, cook until thickened. About 2 minutes. Take off the heat, cool and add: 1 cup nondairy whipped topping. Mix well and put over the pudding. |
