LAYERED CHEESE AND APPLES 
1 pkg. (3 oz.) lemon or orange Jello
1/2 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
1 c. boiling water
3/4 c. cold water
1 tbsp. lemon juice
1 c. diced red apples
1 pkg. (3 oz.) cream cheese
1/2 c. chopped walnuts

Dissolve Jello, salt, sugar in boiling water. Add cold water and lemon juice. Chill until very thick. Fold apples into 1 cup Jello. Pour into mold or pan. Chill until set, but not firm.

Whip remaining Jello until fluffy. Soften cheese. Blend into a small amount of whipped Jello and fold into remaining whipped Jello. Then fold in nuts. Chill until firm. Makes about 4 1/2 cups or 8 servings. Double recipe when making for a party.
