BREAD AND BUTTER PICKLES 
25 good sized cucumbers, sliced
6 lg. onions, sliced
1 tsp. turmeric
2 tbsp. mustard seed
2 tbsp. celery seed
1/2 tsp. powdered ginger

Soak cucumbers overnight in clear water. The next morning slice cucumbers and sprinkle with 1/2 cup salt. Cover with water. Let stand one hour. Drain water off and mix 1 quart of white vinegar, 2 1/2 cups sugar. Boil 10 minutes. Mix well. Put other ingredients in mixture and mix well. Put in jars and seal.
