EMPANADAS 
EMPANADAS FILLING:

1 lb. ground beef
3 onions, minced
1 lg. can tomato sauce
Salt and pepper to taste
2 1/2 tsp. Grandma's Spanish seasoning
1 tsp. cumin powder

DOUGH:

3 c. flour
3 tsp. baking powder
1 1/2 tbsp. shortening
1 1/2 tsp. salt
1 c. milk

Brown beef and onion. Add tomato sauce and spices. Simmer 1/2 hour. Add approximately 2 tablespoons flour to thicken. Let cool.

Mix dough ingredients well. Form into small balls. Roll into 6 inch circles. Put filling on one side, fold over and seal edges real good. Deep fry until browned.

This is an excellent recipe. I just added 1 teaspoon of sugar to the dough, but only if you like. Filling recipe is great, I added chopped olives, capers and raisins (1 tbsp. of each), empanadas fry beautifully. My family loved it... This recipe is added to my trademarks. Make sure you make enough quantity because will not have leftovers!!!
