CHOCOLATE TORTE 
1 stick butter, melt
1 c. chopped pecans
1 c. self-rising flour
8 oz. cream cheese
1 c. sugar
1/2 lg. Cool Whip
2 sm. pkgs. instant chocolate pudding
1/2 lg. Cool Whip

Mix first 3 ingredients and spread in bottom of 8 1/2 x 13 inch casserole. Bake at 300 degrees for 15 minutes, cool.

Mix and spread on crust (cream cheese, sugar and Cool Whip) the next 3 ingredients. Next prepare instant pudding and spread over cheese mix; after, top with the Cool Whip. Decorate with nuts or cherries if desired.
