2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/2 c. buttermilk
1 stick butter
1 c. water
4 tbsp. cocoa
2 eggs
1 c. Crisco
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. vanilla
1 tsp. cinnamon

Mix sugar and flour in bowl. In saucepan melt Crisco, butter, water and cocoa; bring to a boil over low heat. Mix with dry ingredients in bowl. Add eggs, buttermilk, soda, cinnamon and vanilla flavoring. Bake in greased and floured pan about 9 x 13 inches for 45 minutes at 350 degrees.

Approximately 5 minutes before cake is done, mix icing and pour over cake while cake is still hot.

Icing: Bring to a boil 1 stick of butter, 4 tablespoons cocoa, 8 tablespoons milk. Remove from heat and beat in 1 box confectioners' sugar, 1 teaspoon vanilla and 2 cups chopped pecans.
