GERMAN STYLE POTATO SALAD 
5 lb. cooked potatoes
1/2 c. sugar
1/2 c. vinegar
3/4 c. water
1/2 lb. bacon
2 tbsp. celery seed
1 med. onion, chopped
Salt and pepper to taste

Fry bacon, drain, set aside (crumble). In a pan, add sugar, vinegar, water, and onion. Bring to a boil.

In a large bowl, either slice or chunk cooked potatoes, sprinkle with celery seed and crumbled bacon. Add 1 tablespoons bacon grease. Add cooled vinegar and sugar mixture. Toss until well mixed. Serve warm or cold. Better flavor when warm.
