NEVER FAIL PIE CRUST 
3 c. all-purpose flour
1 tbsp. sugar
2 tsp. salt
1 1/2 c. shortening
1 egg
1 tbsp. vinegar
1/2 c. water

Sift flour, sugar, and salt together. Cut in shortening with pastry blender until pieces are the size of small peas. Beat egg and blend with vinegar and water. Sprinkle liquid over flour mixture. Toss with a fork until all flour is moistened and mixture forms a ball. Flatten on a lightly floured surface and prepare pie crust or pastry shell. Bake at 450 degrees for 10 to 12 minutes.
