CHOCOLATE CAKE | |
1 box Duncan Hines Yellow cake mix 1 c. water 4 eggs 1/2 c. oil 1 box milk chocolate instant pudding mix Sift cake and pudding mix together. Add all the other ingredients and mix about 2 minutes. Pour batter into waxed paper lined, greased and floured pans. Bake at 350 degrees for 25 minutes. Split each layer of cake. Spread the white filling between the split layers. Frost with Chocolate Mocha Frosting. WHITE FILLING FOR CHOCOLATE CAKE: 6 tbsp. flour 2 sticks butter 1 tsp. vanilla 1 c. milk 1 c. sugar Cook flour and milk until thick. Refrigerate until cold. Add 2 sticks of butter (room temperature), sugar, and vanilla. Beat at high speed for 15 minutes. Spread between layers of cake. CHOCOLATE MOCHA FROSTING: 1 lb. box powdered sugar 1 stick butter, room temperature 5 tbsp. cocoa 6 tbsp. cold coffee (about) Cream all ingredients until smooth. Frost cake and enjoy. I also use the cake, filling, and frosting to make Groom's cakes for friends. |
