ORANGE-NUT GINGER BARS | |
1 pkg. Betty Crocker gingerbread mix 1 1/4 c. lukewarm water 1 tbsp. grated orange peel 2 eggs 1 c. chopped nuts ORANGE FROSTING: 2 c. powdered sugar 1/4 c. softened butter 1 tbsp. grated orange peel 2 tbsp. orange juice Heat oven to 350 degrees. Grease 2 (9"x9"x2") square pans. Mix gingerbread mix (dry), water, orange peel, and eggs in large bowl. Beat on low speed, scraping bowl frequently, for 1 minute. Stir in nuts. Pour into pans. Bake until wooden pick inserted in center comes out clean, about 15 minutes. Cool slightly. Frost by mixing remaining ingredients until smooth. Cut into bars. Makes about 48 bars. |
