EASY FLAN 
1 can evaporated milk
1 can sweetened condensed milk
4 eggs
1 c. sugar
1 tsp. vanilla

Caramelize the cup of sugar in a pan and pour into bottom of Pyrex dish. (Ten inch pie plate or something similar in size.) Mix remaining ingredients and pour into the pie plate over the caramelized sugar. In pre-heated oven (350 degrees) cook about 35 minutes in a pan of water until a toothpick inserted in the flan comes out clean.

Definitely a 50 minute recipe. I used 3/4 cup sugar. Sometimes too much carmelized sugar overpowers the flavor. Each to his own. I've tried a lot of recipes for flan but this basic recipe has worked best for me. Oh, and no authentic flan ever had sour cream!
