X-MAS COOKIES 
1 c. butter
1/2 c. sugar
2 c. flour
1/4 tsp. baking powder
1/4 tsp. salt

Add sugar to butter then cream with spoon (no electric beater) add flour, sifted with baking powder and salt. Mix well together this time using hands. It will form into a dough. Sit in refrigerator to cool, then roll out small amounts at a time on a floured board, cut with floured cookie cutter. Use a pancake turner to slide off board. Bake at 350 degrees for 10 minutes. Cool and use 7 Minute Frosting recipe which follows.

7 MINUTE FROSTING:

1 egg white, unbeaten
3/4 c. sugar
3 tbsp. cold water
1/8 tsp. cream of tartar
Few grains salt
1/4 tsp. anise

Combine all ingredients in top of double boiler over boiling water. Beat with egg beater until stiff enough to stand up in peaks 7-10 minutes. During cooking heaping sides of pan clean using a spatula. Spread on X-Mas cookies.
