MAKE-AHEAD BEEF NOODLE BAKE | |
8 oz. pkg. noodles 1 lb. ground chuck 1 2/3 c. (14 1/2 oz. can) tomato sauce 1/2 c. chopped onion 1/4 c. chopped green pepper 1 tsp. seasoned salt 1/8 tsp. pepper 2 c. (1 pt.) cottage cheese 3 oz. pkg. softened cream cheese Cook noodles according to label directions. Drain well. Brown meat in skillet. Remove from heat; pour off excess fat. Stir in tomato sauce, onion, green pepper, salt and pepper. Blend cottage cheese with cream cheese until smooth and creamy. Spoon half of noodles into buttered 1-quart casserole. Cover with cheese mixture. Add remaining noodles, then pour meat sauce over noodles. Place in refrigerator until 30 minutes before meal time. Then bake uncovered in 350 degree oven for 30 to 35 minutes or until bubbly. Serves 8. |
