DATE NUT BREAD 
1 c. water
2 c. flour
1 egg
1/2 tsp. baking soda
1/2 tsp. baking powder
1 c. sugar
1 tbsp. oil
2 tsp. vanilla
8 oz. dates
1 c. chopped nuts

Chop dates or buy dates already chopped. Put in small saucepan with 1 cup water. Cook until mushy. Set aside. Mix remaining ingredients. Add date mixture. Grease and flour bread pans. Put about 1/2 full. Bake at 350 degrees for 50 to 60 minutes. Should make 2 to 3 loaves, depending on size of pans.
