PASTA FAGIOLE 
1-2 tbsp. olive oil or bacon drippings
1/2 onion
2 sm. garlic cloves
1 (15 oz.) can crushed tomatoes or 2 cut up fresh tomatoes
1/2 can red kidney beans
1/2 lb. ditalini or macaroni

Fry onion and garlic in bacon drippings or olive oil in 2 quart saucepan. Then add tomatoes (either crushed or fresh). Add 1/2 can kidney beans with juice. Boil ditalini or elbows until half done, drain only 3/4 of the water off, save drained water. Pour macaroni into tomato mixture. Let cook. Add some Romano cheese and reserved macaroni water, if necessary.
