SAUERKRAUT, SAUSAGE, AND DUMPLINGS | |
2 cans sauerkraut (or more if lg. group) 1 lb. (or more) sausage, cut in chunks (or hot dogs, whole) 2 or 3 tbsp. brown sugar 1 tsp. caraway seeds (optional) 1 apple, cut in quarters Bisquick for dumplings (see directions on the box) (optional) Place sauerkraut, brown sugar, caraway seeds, and apple in covered baking dish and bake at 350 degrees for 30 minutes. Add sausage or hot dogs and bake, covered, for 10 minutes or 30 minutes, covered, if you don't add dumplings. Optional: Next, add Bisquick dumplings and bake 10 minutes, uncovered. Cover again and bake an additional 10 minutes. Remove apple before serving. |
