COOKED FINGER PAINT BASE 
1/2 c. soap flakes
1/2 c. cornstarch or powdered laundry starch
1/2 c. cold water

In a large pot mix well with wire whip. Add 2 cups hot water. Cook, stirring constantly, to a full rolling boil. Scorches easily. Cleans easily. Add a few drops of glycerin (available in the drugstore) as mixture cools. Add a few drops of food coloring or tempera paint to the base as you use it. May be thinned to make easel paint.
