APPLE BARS 
2 c. flour
1 c. butter
1/2 c. milk
1 egg yolk, beaten
1 tsp. salt
4 c. (heaping) apples, sliced
1 c. (heaping) sugar
1 tsp. cinnamon
3 tbsp. (heaping) flour

Cut butter into flour and salt as for pie crust. Add milk and egg yolk. Divide into 2 balls. Roll out 1 ball to fit ungreased 15"x10" cookie sheet. Fill with apples and remaining dry ingredients. Cover with second crust. Press edges together. Bake 35 to 40 minutes at 400 degrees. When done, spread with powdered sugar glaze. Powdered sugar, water, juice of 1 lemon. Spread over bars while hot. Cool, cut into bars.
