MIXED PICKLES 
1 head cauliflower
1 qt. sm. pickles or cut cucumbers
1 qt. cut red and green peppers
1 qt. lima beans
1 qt. green or yellow beans
1 qt. cut carrots
1 qt. cut celery
1 qt. sm. onions or cut up onions
2 qt. vinegar
2 qt. water
6-8 c. sugar
4 tbsp. turmeric

Soak cucumbers and peppers in salt water overnight and drain. Cook the rest of the vegetables in salt water until crisp-tender. Drain well. Mix soaked vegetables and cooked vegetables with the remaining ingredients and boil a few minutes. Place in sterilized jars and seal at once.
