1 lb. walnut meat
1 lb. pitted dates
2 c. maraschino cherries, drained
3/4 c. flour
3/4 c. sugar
1 tsp. baking powder
1 tsp. salt
3 eggs, beaten until frothy
1 tsp. vanilla

DO NOT CUT UP walnuts, dates and cherries, just combine in a large bowl. Sift together dry ingredients, add to fruit mixture, stir in. Add vanilla to eggs, pour over mixture and blend until all dry ingredients are wet and coated. Use WELL GREASED angel food cake pan (tube pan that comes apart).

Bake at 300 degrees for 1 hour and 45 minutes. DO NOT TEST. Cool 10 minutes (or so). Take apart while still warm. Cool on rack. WRAP TIGHTLY, refrigerate; keeps for weeks.
