SPICE RAISIN BARS 
1 3/4 c. sifted flour
1 tsp. baking soda
1 tsp. salt
1 c. sugar
1/2 c. soft shortening
1 tsp. vanilla
2 eggs

Preheat oven to 375 degrees. Sift together flour, soda and salt; set aside. Combine sugar, shortening and vanilla; blend until creamy. Beat in eggs, one at a time. Add flour mixture and mix well. Spread in greased 15 x 10 x 1 inch pan.

TOPPING:

1/4 c. light corn syrup
2 tbsp. water
1 (6 oz.) pkg. spice morsels
1/2 c. raisins
1/2 c. nuts

Combine corn syrup and water in saucepan. Bring to a boil over moderate heat, stirring constantly. Remove from heat. Add spice morsels and stir until melted. Blend in raisins and nuts. Spread topping evenly over cookie mixture to marblize. Bake at 375 degrees for 20-25 minutes.

GLAZE:

2 1/2 c. confectioners' sugar
2 tbsp. milk

Combine confectioners' sugar and milk; stir until blended. Spread over Spice Raisin Bars while warm. Cut in 3 x 1 inch bars.
