1/2 tsp. baking powder
1/2 tsp. salt
2/3 c. butter

3 lg. eggs
2 c. granulated sugar
1/4 c. plus 1 tbsp. Kahlua
3/4 c. chopped walnuts or pecans
Optional: Nut halves

Grease 9 inch square pan well; line with foil. Preheat oven 350 degrees F. Resift flour with baking powder and salt. Melt butter with chocolate over low heat. Beat eggs with sugar until light. Add flour mixture, chocolate mixture, and 1/4 cup Kahlua; blend well. Stir in nuts.

Turn into prepared pan. Bake 30 minutes or until top springs back when touched lightly in center, and edges begin to pull away from pan. Remove from oven; cool thoroughly in pan. Brush top with 1 tablespoon Kahlua. Cut into 1x2 inch bars. Garnish, if desired. Makes 2 dozen.

Kahlua Fudge Brownies

 Susan Hiza (Florida) says:
Since I had a little Kahlua left, I tried this recipe feeling certain it would be a hit, however though it tasted good, the texture was very dense but not fudgy but cake-like. I question the use of 3 eggs. It is like a chocolate pound cake! Most small brownie mixes only call for 1 egg so why add 3 for a batter that fits in a 9x9 pan and it puffed up very high and would have better fit in a 10x10 pan.
