MICROWAVE SAVORY RICE 
1 c. long grain rice
1 tbsp. oil
2 tbsp. butter
2 tbsp. minced onion or 1/2 c. fresh onion
1 clove minced garlic or 1 tsp. minced garlic
1/4 tsp. salt
1 tbsp. parsley flakes
1/2 tsp. paprika
1/4 tsp. savory (basil, rosemary or oregano)
2 tsp. instant bouillon
2 c. hot water

Heat oil, butter, rice, onion and garlic for 2 minutes on high stirring once after 1 minute or until brown. Add all other ingredients. Cook on high for 5 minutes. Stir. Cook 10 minutes more covered (lid or plastic wrap) or until liquid is absorbed. Fluff with fork.

Since microwave ovens vary in power, you may need to adjust your cooking time.
