SOFT PRETZELS 
1 pkg. dry yeast
1 1/2 c. warm water
1 tsp. salt
1 tsp. sugar
3 1/2 to 4 c. flour
1 egg
Coarse salt

Dissolve yeast in warm water in large bowl. Stir in salt, sugar, and 2 cups flour. Stir until smooth. Add enough remaining flour to make dough easy to handle. Knead dough until smooth and elastic. Cover dough let raise 30 minutes.

Cut dough into 16 equal parts. Roll each part into a rope 18 inches long. Twist into pretzel shape. Place on greased baking sheet, brush with beaten egg, sprinkle with coarse salt. Bake at 425 degrees for 15 minutes.
