SCALLOPED APPLES 
6 lg. apples
1/4 tsp. salt
1/4 c. water
1/4 c. flour
1/4 tsp. cinnamon
1 tbsp. lemon juice
3/4 c. sugar
1/3 c. butter

Pare, core and slice apples. Put in shallow, buttered baking dish. Pour cinnamon, salt, lemon juice and water mixture over apples. Mix sugar, flour, butter until crumbly; sprinkle on top. Bake 30 minutes or more in 400 degree oven. Serve as vegetable dish with pork, chicken or ham. Can also be used as a dessert with ice cream.
