Take a large boneless round steak or flank steak or sirloin. Place meat on board and beat until 1/4" to 1/2" thick. Season with tenderizer, pepper, onion, and garlic. Fill with stuffing, spread on meat like peanut butter on bread. Filling should be at least as thick as meat. Roll like a jelly roll and tie with string. Bake in an oven bag or better yet, put in tomato sauce while it cooks. The longer you cook it the better. See fillings below: BREAD: 2 c. or so broken, soft bread chunks Eggs Spices Saute onion and green pepper in butter. Mix until moist, add mushrooms or cheese for extra flavor. VEGETABLES: Slice fresh mushrooms, hot or green peppers, onions, tomatoes Add fresh parsley, spices, any cheese May use squash, potatoes, sliced carrots, or any favorite vegetable. MEAT: Brown ground beef and/or hot or regular sausage. Season while frying with salt, pepper, onion, garlic, and parsley. Shred any cheese in with meat mixture. Add eggs and bread crumbs until sticky. |
