2 1/2 c. sugar 2 eggs whites (beaten) 1/2 c. white Karo syrup 1 tsp. vanilla 1/2 c. water 1 c. pecans In heavy pot, combine the first three ingredients and cook to hard ball stage. Pour 1/2 over beaten egg whites. Cook rest of syrup for an additional five minutes and add to egg white mixture. Continue beating. Add vanilla, and pecans when mixture begins to thicken. Drop by spoonfuls on wax paper. Put in bowl of cold water to help thicken. |
